La vierge, 2026

Concrete, clay, adhesive, wooden armature

As a child, when we had a “feed” of lobster, the maternal side of my family would always locate “la vierge” (translates to the Virgin Mary). These tiny sculptures hidden inside of lobsters always had me in awe. This piece pays homage to this tradition and to Catholicism, which has greatly influenced both sides of my family.
